Skype for the iPhone gets an update

There is no doubt that Skype is probably one of the best and most frequently used apps in the world. Whenever you pick up a new phone or you’re asked for your top five apps Skype is probably somewhere on your mind. The great thing about Skype is that all generations use it and it’s a great way for friends and relatives to get in touch with each other.

When I first picked up Skype for the iPhone over two years ago I though it was a really cool app. It was really easy to use and it’s user interface was okay. But I couldn’t help to notice that there was something missing. I wasn’t quite sure what it was at the time, but I do now. The guys over at Skype have recently added some new features which have improved the experience for iPhone users all around the world.

Here is a list of the new features which have just been added:

  • When you a receive a voice message, it will show up in the conversation. If you want to listen to it just press play.
  • Viewing contact profiles was also improved as you can now tap on any person in your contact list and then you can select the profile from the menu and your contact’s mood message, Skype name, birthday, location and more will be available. Also if you are in a 1 to 1 conversation you can just tap on the contact name in the header to bring up their profile.
  • This is probably one of the coolest additions so far. The guys over at Skype have added an add participants option in the bottom right corner of any conversation and that’s where you can add people to your current conversation.

As you can see people overall this is a pretty cool update as it brought in a lot of new and useful features. Follow me on Twitter for regular updates and news and click that follow button for the latest game and tech news.
