What is up people?
Today is a very sad day for all of us gamers. I never imagined that the day would come so soon, but today “BioShock” creator has announced that “Irrational Games” will be closing down. The creator of “BioShock” said that he wants to move towards smaller and more narrative focused games that will be only available in the digital form.
Ken Levine the leader and creator of “Irrational Games” has announced the news on the company’s website and said that “He’ll be starting a smaller, more entrepreneurial endeavour at take-two and laying off all but 15 people” On the site the creator then continued to say “While I’m deeply proud of what we’ve accomplished together, my passion has turned to making a different kind of game than we’ve done before.” Later on the creator mentioned that he wanted to refocus his energy on a smaller team with which he can have a closer relationship, which may then possibly result in a better relationship with gamers. It’s almost as if Ken Levine wants to start all over again. It’s crazy right?
I do understand the fact that he wants to focus towards something else but unfortunately think about all of those employees who are affected by the closing of the studio. No doubt that many of those creative and talented individuals will find a job elsewhere but still it’s going to be a tough couple of weeks for all of those developers.
BioShock has probably been one of my favourite and most memorable games that I have ever played. The franchise has taken the gaming industry to where no other studio had dared to go and as a result all of the members involved created one hell of a game. For those of you who are into gaming and have no notion of the game, well you might want to check it out it’s pretty sweet and at the moment super cheap. BioShock infinite was one hell of a game and it’s a shame that there won’t be another one.
